Liveness Detection is a security feature used during selfie verification to determine if the person in front of the camera is a live human being and not a static image or a spoof. There are two types:

  • Active Liveness Detection: Requires you to perform specific actions, such as blinking, smiling, or turning your head.
  • Passive Liveness Detection: Automatically analyzes the image for signs of life without requiring any specific action, examining factors like skin texture, lighting, and micro-expressions.
