How to activate 3D Secure?

To make a payment on CY.SEND, your payment card must have 3D Secure enabled.

3D Secure (often known as "Verified by Visa", "Mastercard SecureCode", or "American Express SafeKey") is a security protocol that adds an additional layer of security for online credit and debit card transactions. Here's how you can generally activate 3D Secure for your card:

Contact Your Bank or Card Issuer:

The first step is to contact your bank or card issuer. They will provide guidance on whether your card is eligible for 3D Secure and how to activate it.

Bank's Online Portal:

• Many banks allow cardholders to activate 3D Secure via their online banking portal.
• Log in to your online banking account.
• Navigate to the card management section.
• Look for an option that mentions “3D Secure”, “Verified by Visa”, “Mastercard SecureCode”, or similar.
• Follow the on-screen prompts to register and activate 3D Secure for your card.

Enrolment Process: During the activation or enrollment process, you might be asked to create a password, PIN, or passphrase. Remember this detail, as you'll need it to verify online transactions.

Some banks might also use OTP (One Time Password) sent to your registered mobile number or email address as a method for 3D Secure verification.

Activation Confirmation: Once you've completed the activation process, you should receive a confirmation message or email from the bank or card issuer. This is an indication that 3D Secure has been activated for your card.

Shopping on CY.SEND: When you shop online at a merchant that supports 3D Secure, at the payment stage, you'll be prompted to enter the password, PIN, or OTP you set up during the activation process. This extra step ensures that only the cardholder can use the card for online transactions.

Regularly Update Your Details: Make sure that your contact details (especially your mobile number and email address) are up-to-date with the bank. This is essential if your bank uses OTP for 3D Secure verification.
